Privacy policy
How NebulaClip handles your data on this website and in the app at app.nebulaclip.com: what we receive, why, from which platforms, for how long, and who helps us.
The short version
NebulaClip publishes videos that you upload to social accounts that you connect yourself. For that we need your account details, your videos and post texts, and access to the accounts you connect.
- We use your data to provide the service you signed up for. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not train AI models with it.
- From each platform we receive only what we need to show you which account a post goes to, to publish it, and to show you its status and, where the platform provides them, its numbers.
- Your videos and music are stored in the EU and deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Access tokens of the platforms are stored encrypted. When you disconnect an account or delete your NebulaClip account, we revoke our access at the platform where it offers this, and delete the data.
- The app sets only the cookies it needs to keep you signed in. No tracking, no cookie banner.
Who is responsible
The controller within the meaning of Art. 4(7) GDPR for this website and for the NebulaClip app is:
NebulaClip, sole proprietorship
Owner: Waldemar Kramer
Leipziger Straße 29 (Papierfabrik)
34260 Kaufungen, Germany
Email: [email protected]
For questions about your data, for requests under the GDPR and for complaints, write to [email protected]. We answer in German or English. More about us is in the imprint.
This website (nebulaclip.com)
This website keeps two small notes on your own device so it behaves sensibly when you come back (see Cookies). It loads nothing from other companies' servers, and it sends nothing anywhere unless you type it into the form yourself.
Hosting and server logs
This site is delivered by Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open a page, Cloudflare's servers technically need your IP address to deliver it, and they keep server logs that record IP address, time, requested file, referrer and browser. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in delivering the site securely and reliably, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Cloudflare acts as our processor under a data processing agreement. Because Cloudflare is a US company, your IP address can be processed in the United States. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has recognised an adequate level of protection (Art. 45 GDPR). Cloudflare deletes the logs after a short period; we do not receive them and cannot link them to you.
The waiting list
If you enter your email address, we store it for one purpose: to write to you once when the NebulaClip video studio opens. The legal basis is your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can revoke that consent at any time with effect for the future, for example with a short email to [email protected], and we then delete your address. We do not pass it on and we do not send a newsletter. Once the one notification has gone out, the address is deleted.
When you use the form, your address goes to a small program of ours running on Cloudflare's network and is stored in a database that Cloudflare holds inside the European Union. What is stored is the address, the language you were reading in, the time, and the IP address you sent it from. We have to be able to show that a subscription was genuinely asked for; that is what the IP address and the timestamps are for, and nothing else. They are deleted together with the address.
You then get one email asking you to confirm the address, and only a confirmed address is ever written to again (double opt-in). That email is sent on our behalf by ZeptoMail, a service of Zoho Corporation B.V., Netherlands, acting as our processor; it receives your address for the sole purpose of delivering the message. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and one click on it takes you off the list.
Writing to us
If you write to [email protected], that message and your address sit in a mailbox we rent from Zoho. The provider for our region is Zoho Corporation B.V., Netherlands, acting as our processor on the basis of a data processing agreement; the mailboxes for this domain are held in the European Union. We keep correspondence for as long as answering it requires and as long as commercial and tax retention periods oblige us to, then delete it. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, and where your message is about a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Third parties
Fonts, scripts and video are part of this site and load from the same place as the page itself. No third party analytics, no advertising, no social plugins, no embedded fonts or players from other companies, and nothing that would tell another company that you were here. The only party that technically sees your visit is Cloudflare, our hosting provider, described above. Links to other sites, for example to Google or YouTube, load nothing until you click them.
The NebulaClip app
NebulaClip at app.nebulaclip.com is a web app for creators, small businesses and agencies. You connect your own social accounts, upload your own videos, write the captions, choose the time, and NebulaClip publishes them. This is what we process for that, and why.
Your account
When you register we store your email address, your password (only as a secure hash, kept by our database and sign-in provider Supabase), your language and, if you switch it on, a second factor for signing in (the secret for your authenticator app). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google instead of a password. We need this to give you an account and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Sign-up, sign-in and password reset are protected against bots by Cloudflare Turnstile. It checks technical signals of your browser and connection, not who you are (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our interest in a secure service).
Your workspace and team
A workspace holds your connected accounts, videos and posts. We store its name, the account type you chose (private, creator or business; it sets the defaults for AI labels), your settings, your plan and, if you invite others, their email address and role. Members see the content their role allows (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Your videos
Uploaded videos are stored in Cloudflare R2 in the EU. Before publishing we check each file: format, length, resolution, frame rate, sound, and whether it carries a C2PA content credential (a record of how the video was made, for example with an AI tool). We store a short technical summary of that check. If a platform needs a different format, you chose another aspect ratio for it, you switched on captions, added music, or chose a visible AI label, we make a copy for that platform.
Phones often store the place where a video was recorded inside the file. We remove this location data before publishing, unless the file carries a C2PA content credential that has to stay intact. Such a file is sent as it is, including any location data in it. Check your camera settings if you do not want to share where you filmed.
We do not watch your videos as a matter of routine. We look at a video only if you ask us to (for example in a support case), if it is reported to us as illegal, or if it is technically or legally necessary. Uploaded videos and their copies are deleted automatically, see How long we keep data.
Captions
If you have captions made for a video, our media service takes the sound out of the video and splits it into short pieces. They go to Cloudflare Workers AI, which recognises the spoken words with the speech recognition model Whisper and returns them with their timing. Cloudflare does not use them to train AI models or to improve its services (Workers AI data usage). The sound pieces exist only while the captions are being made. We store the recognised words, your edits and the look you chose with the video, and delete them together with it. When you post with captions switched on, we burn them into the copy for each platform you chose (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Your music
You can upload music (MP3, AAC, WAV or M4A) and lay it under a video. Music files are stored like your videos in Cloudflare R2 in the EU. We check format, length and sound, and compute a checksum (SHA-256) of each file.
When you upload a track, and again for every post with music, you confirm that you may use both the composition and the recording. We record each confirmation with time, person, the wording and version of the text and the checksum of the music file, and for every file we send to a platform also the checksum of that file, plus IP address and browser. With this record you and we can show later which music was confirmed for which post, for example if a rights holder complains (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our and your interest in that proof). We mix the music into the copy for each platform you chose, in the same pass as format, captions and AI label (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Post texts, schedules and publishing
For each post we store what you enter: texts, titles, descriptions, links, hashtags, the settings for each platform (such as visibility, comments, commercial content disclosure, AI label), the time you chose and your confirmation. When a platform reports back we store the post ID, its link, the status and any error message. That is how we show you what happened and make sure nothing is posted twice (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Statistics
For posts you published through NebulaClip, we read the numbers each platform provides: views, likes, comments and shares, and depending on the platform also reach, saves, reposts, quotes or clicks. Which numbers these are, and which permissions they need, is listed under Connected platforms. We read them 1, 6 and 24 hours after publishing, then once a day, until day 30 in Solo and until day 90 in Pro and Team, and store each reading so you can see how a post develops; when you open a post, we refresh numbers that are older than an hour. Once a post is older than 30 days (Solo and without a subscription) or 90 days (Pro and Team), we keep only its latest reading. If you switch from Pro or Team to Solo, or your subscription ends, the 30-day period applies from then on; the app tells you beforehand. In Pro and Team, owners and admins can download the stored readings as a CSV file before then; each download is recorded in the activity log. The file does not contain YouTube numbers, because YouTube's rules do not allow passing them on (you can download them in YouTube Studio), or Pinterest numbers without the account holder's consent, because we do not store those. You are responsible for the downloaded file; the platforms' terms still apply to their numbers in it.
In the Pro and Team plans NebulaClip calculates from your own posts the best time to post on each platform, without YouTube data. YouTube numbers are shown for each video on their own. We do not read statistics about other people's posts, do not compare you with other accounts, and do not build profiles of the people who watched (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; for Pinterest Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, see Pinterest).
Notifications and email
We send you the emails the service needs: confirming your address, resetting your password, your order confirmation or the message that we did not accept your order, confirmations of cancellation or withdrawal, invitations to a workspace, and our answers to reports of illegal content. They are delivered through ZeptoMail. Reminders before a platform connection expires and messages about failed posts appear as notifications in the app. We do not send advertising emails without your consent.
Logs, security and error reports
Our servers record technical data with every request: IP address, time, the address requested, browser and result. We use it to deliver the app, keep it secure, find errors and stop abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are deleted after 7 days at the latest.
Important actions in a workspace are written to an activity log: who connected or disconnected an account, scheduled or published a post, changed an AI label, or changed roles or the plan. For some actions the log also records the IP address and browser. It protects you and your team, and it shows later who decided what, for example about an AI label (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
In the Team plan, owners and admins of a workspace can view its activity log in the app and download it as a CSV file: time, person (name and email address while they are a member), action and details, such as an invited email address, the file name of a deleted video or the reason for switching off AI labels. IP addresses and browser details are never shown or exported, and they are deleted after 90 days.
When something goes wrong in the app, also in a task running in the background such as publishing at the scheduled time, an error report goes to Sentry. It contains the error message and the technical context: the page or request that failed (its address, not its content), browser, operating system and language setting, the steps just before the error (pages opened, clicks, requests, without anything you typed), the user ID of your account and internal IDs of the post, video, account, workspace or payment concerned. Your IP address, your email address, the contents of forms and requests, access tokens, passwords and cookies are removed before a report is sent. Reports from your browser go straight to Sentry, which sees your IP address while receiving them; on our instruction Sentry does not store it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Support
If you write to us, we use your message and your account data to answer (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for questions about your contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Reports of illegal content
If you report content to us as illegal (Art. 16 Digital Services Act), we process your report, your name, your email address and the content concerned. We use them to examine the report, to tell you and the user concerned about our decision, and to keep a record (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR together with the Digital Services Act). Reports of child sexual abuse material can be made without giving a name. We tell the user concerned who reported only where this is strictly necessary, for example in a copyright case.
Connected platforms
You connect your accounts yourself, through each platform's own sign-in page (OAuth). We never see your passwords for these platforms. What a platform shares with us is listed on its consent screen and below. Access tokens are stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM), and only our servers can read them.
We use platform data only for the features you see in NebulaClip: showing which account a post goes to, publishing your posts, and showing their status and, where available, statistics. We do not sell platform data, do not use it for advertising, do not pass it to data brokers, and do not use it to train AI models. Each platform also processes your data as a separate controller under its own privacy policy.
You can disconnect any account in NebulaClip at any time (Accounts, Disconnect). We then delete the access tokens at once, revoke our access at the platform where it offers this, stop all scheduled posts to that account, and delete the profile data we received from the platform within 7 days.
YouTube and Google
NebulaClip uses YouTube API Services.
What we receive. If you connect a YouTube channel, Google asks you for two permissions: uploading videos (youtube.upload) and viewing your YouTube account (youtube.readonly). We receive the channel ID, the channel name and handle, and the channel picture, and, for videos you publish through NebulaClip, their processing status, their link and the number of views, likes and comments.
What we do with it. We upload the video you selected and confirmed to your channel at the time you scheduled, with the title, description, visibility, "made for kids" setting and altered or synthetic content setting you chose. We show your channel name so you know where a post goes, and the statistics of your own NebulaClip posts in your dashboard. We never change the values you set, and we never add text afterwards. YouTube numbers are shown for each video as YouTube reports them: we do not add them up, rank them or mix them with numbers from other platforms, and the best time to post is calculated without them. YouTube numbers are not part of NebulaClip's CSV export.
Sign in with Google. If you use it to sign in to NebulaClip, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We use them only to create your account and sign you in.
Limited Use. NebulaClip's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In practice: we use Google user data only to provide and improve the features described above. We do not sell it, do not use it for advertising, and do not use it to train AI models. Nobody at NebulaClip reads it, unless you ask us to (for example in a support case), it is necessary for security, or the law requires it. We share YouTube data only with the service providers listed below that run NebulaClip for us.
Storage. YouTube data we store is refreshed or deleted at least every 30 days. At the same time we check that your channel is still connected.
Revoking access. Disconnect the channel in NebulaClip, or remove NebulaClip's access in your Google Account at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. If you disconnect in NebulaClip, we revoke the access at Google at once and delete the data from your channel within 7 days. If you revoke access in your Google Account, we delete it within 30 days.
YouTube's and Google's terms. By connecting YouTube you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms). How Google handles your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy (https://www.google.com/policies/privacy).
NebulaClip stores a few cookies in your browser to keep you signed in (see Cookies). We do not let third parties serve content or advertising in NebulaClip. Questions and complaints: [email protected].
TikTok
What we receive. With TikTok Login Kit you allow NebulaClip to read your basic profile (user.info.basic) and to publish videos (video.publish). We receive your TikTok user ID for NebulaClip (open ID), your display name and your profile picture. Each time you open the post page we fetch your creator settings from TikTok: your nickname, which visibility options you can choose, whether comments, duets and stitches are switched off on your account, the maximum video length you can post, and whether you can post right now.
What we do with it. We show which TikTok account a post goes to, offer only the options TikTok allows for your account, and publish the video you uploaded and confirmed, with the title, visibility, interaction settings, commercial content disclosure and AI label you chose. TikTok tells us the status and, once the post is public, its ID. We do not add a watermark, logo or advertising to your videos.
Statistics. Once NebulaClip shows TikTok statistics, TikTok also asks you for permission to read your public videos (video.list). With it we read, for videos you published through NebulaClip, the number of views, likes, comments and shares. TikTok provides these numbers only for public videos. If you do not give this permission, you stay connected and see no TikTok numbers.
Transfer. TikTok fetches the video from our media address media.nebulaclip.com through a link that expires.
Revoking access. Disconnect TikTok in NebulaClip. We revoke the token at TikTok at once and delete your TikTok profile data within 7 days. You can also remove NebulaClip in the security settings of the TikTok app, among the apps that have access to your account. TikTok processes your data under its own privacy policy.
Instagram, Facebook Pages and Threads (Meta)
Instagram. You connect an Instagram professional account (business or creator) through Instagram's sign-in. We ask for instagram_business_basic and instagram_business_content_publish. We receive your account ID, username, name, account type and profile picture, and the daily publishing limit of your account. For posts we publish, we receive the status, the post ID and the link.
Facebook Pages. You log in with Facebook and choose which of your Pages to connect. We ask for pages_show_list, pages_read_engagement and pages_manage_posts. We receive your Facebook user ID, the list of Pages you manage (name, username, picture) and an access token for the Pages you choose. For Reels and videos we publish, we receive the status, the post ID and the link; for Reels with your own music also the result of Facebook's copyright check.
Threads. We ask for threads_basic and threads_content_publish. We receive your Threads user ID, username, name and profile picture, and your publishing limit. For posts we publish, we receive the status, the post ID and the link. Only if a confirmation from Threads gets lost do we look at your most recent Threads posts, to find the one we just published, so that nothing appears twice.
Statistics. Once NebulaClip shows statistics for these platforms, Meta also asks you for instagram_business_manage_insights (Instagram), read_insights (Facebook Pages) and threads_manage_insights (Threads). With them we read, for posts we published: views, reach, likes, comments, shares and saves on Instagram; plays, reach, reactions, comments and shares on Facebook; views, likes, replies, reposts, quotes and shares on Threads. Without these permissions we see only the likes and comments of Instagram posts, and no numbers for Facebook and Threads. You can refuse them and stay connected.
What we do with it. We show which account or Page a post goes to, publish the Reel, video or post you uploaded and confirmed, with your caption and the AI label you chose, at the time you scheduled, and stay within Meta's limits. To publish, Meta fetches the video from media.nebulaclip.com through a link that expires. Meta processes your data under its own privacy policy.
Deleting the data we received from Meta
You can have the data we received from Facebook, Instagram or Threads deleted in three ways:
- In NebulaClip. Open Accounts and disconnect the account. We delete the access tokens at once and the profile data from Meta within 7 days.
- At Meta. Remove NebulaClip in your Facebook or Instagram settings under apps and websites. Meta then sends us a deletion request at https://app.nebulaclip.com/api/webhooks/meta/data-deletion. We delete the access tokens and the profile data from Meta and give you a confirmation code. With that code you can check the status of the deletion on our status page, https://app.nebulaclip.com/data-deletion.
- By email. Write to [email protected], ideally from the email address of your NebulaClip account. We delete the data within 7 days and confirm it to you.
Posts already published on Facebook, Instagram or Threads stay where they are. You manage them directly on the platform.
You sign in with LinkedIn (OpenID Connect) and allow posting on your behalf. We ask for openid, profile and w_member_social. We receive your LinkedIn member ID, your name and your profile picture. When you publish, we upload the video and create the post with your text and the visibility you chose. LinkedIn returns the post ID and the status. LinkedIn statistics are not available in NebulaClip. A LinkedIn connection expires after 60 days; we remind you beforehand so you can renew it. You can disconnect in NebulaClip or in your LinkedIn settings, among the services you have allowed. LinkedIn processes your data under its own privacy policy.
We ask for boards:read, boards:write, pins:read, pins:write and user_accounts:read. Pinterest requires these permissions for creating Pins; we do not create, change or delete boards. We receive your username, your business name if you have one, your profile picture, your account type and the list of your boards (name and ID), so you can choose where a Pin goes. When you publish, we upload the video and create the Pin with the title, description, link, alt text, cover and AI disclosure you chose. So that no Pin is created twice, we look at your most recent Pins right after publishing. You can disconnect in NebulaClip or in your Pinterest settings. Pinterest processes your data under its own privacy policy.
Statistics. With the permissions above we can also read the numbers of the Pins we published: video views, impressions, saves, Pin clicks, link clicks, reactions and comments. Pinterest allows us to store them only if the account holder expressly agrees. Without that consent we fetch them only while you look at a post, and do not store them. Right after you connect Pinterest, and later under Accounts, an admin of your workspace can agree; we then store them like the numbers of the other platforms and record the consent with time, person, IP address, browser and the version of the text. You can withdraw it at any time under Accounts; we then delete the stored Pinterest numbers at once (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Bluesky
You connect Bluesky with your handle, through the sign-in of your Bluesky provider (OAuth). We receive your account identifier (DID), your handle, display name and profile picture, and the address of the server that hosts your account. When you publish, we upload the video and create the post with your text and language setting. Posts on Bluesky are public and are spread across the whole Bluesky network; you can delete them only on Bluesky. For posts we published, we read the public numbers of likes, replies, reposts, quotes and bookmarks from the Bluesky network, without using your session. If you disconnect Bluesky in NebulaClip, we end the session at your provider. Bluesky's own privacy policy applies there.
X
X (formerly Twitter) is not available yet. We will add a section here before it is.
AI labels
Many platforms, and EU law for people who publish professionally (Art. 50 AI Act), require realistic AI videos to be labelled. In the composer you say whether a video was made or substantially changed with AI, and whether it looks real. The defaults depend on the account type of your workspace. This is what NebulaClip then does on each platform:
- TikTok: sets TikTok's own label (is_aigc), which shows "Creator labeled as AI-generated". NebulaClip never adds a visible mark to a video on TikTok.
- YouTube: sets YouTube's disclosure for altered or synthetic content (containsSyntheticMedia). A visible mark only if you ask for one on that post.
- Instagram: sets Instagram's AI label (is_ai_generated).
- Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Bluesky: the platform's own AI label where its interface offers one; otherwise a small visible mark in the top right corner of the video.
- Everywhere: a note in the post text, such as "AI-generated.", which you see and can edit before posting.
If a video carries a C2PA content credential, we send it unchanged to the platforms that read such credentials and label the video themselves (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram). Those labels cannot be removed on the platform.
For each post we store what you chose and what we actually applied on each platform. Every change of the AI setting is recorded in the activity log with time and person. This helps you show later that you labelled correctly.
Payments
Who sells you a plan depends on the country of your billing address (terms, section 4). You choose the country in the order dialogue. It is preselected with the country Cloudflare derives from your IP address; we use it only for that and do not store it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our interest in a simple order dialogue).
Buying from us (billing address in Germany; in the other EU countries once we sell there ourselves). The payment is processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, Ireland. On its checkout page Stripe collects your payment details, your name, your billing address and, from businesses, the VAT identification number. For the other EU countries Stripe calculates the VAT of your country with Stripe Tax; for Germany the rate of 19 % applies. Stripe creates the invoice you receive from us. For this Stripe acts as our processor (Art. 28 GDPR). For its own purposes, such as preventing fraud and losses, meeting its duties under anti-money-laundering law and its own accounting, Stripe is a separate controller under its own privacy policy. Stripe can transfer data to Stripe, LLC in the USA; this is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the EU standard contractual clauses. On its checkout page Stripe uses cookies and similar technologies, for example to detect fraud.
Buying through Link (billing address outside the European Union; in the other EU countries as long as we do not sell there ourselves). We sell these plans through Stripe Managed Payments. For these purchases, Sold through Link, LLC, a company of the Stripe group, is the merchant of record. That is why your checkout, receipts and bank statement show Link, for example "Sold through Link" or "LINK.COM*" followed by our name. Link and Stripe collect your payment details, your name, your billing address and, where the tax requires it, your tax identification number; they process the payment, calculate and pay the taxes that apply, issue receipts and invoices, make refunds, prevent fraud, and help with payment questions. To manage a subscription, Link requires a Link account. On their checkout page they use cookies and similar technologies, for example to detect fraud and to recognise your Link account. They do all this as separate controllers under their own privacy policy. According to it, they also transfer data to countries outside the EU, such as the USA, on the basis of adequacy decisions, the EU standard contractual clauses or other means the law allows; Stripe, LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Sold through Link, LLC is based in the USA.
What we receive and keep. We never see your full card or bank details. For your customer record at Stripe we pass on the email address of your account, the name and ID of the workspace and your language; with the order, the plan, the billing period, the country you chose and who sells. From Stripe we receive, for both kinds of purchase, what you enter on the checkout page apart from your payment details: name, email address, billing address and, for businesses, the VAT identification number; plus a customer and subscription reference, your plan, the billing period and the payment status. Of this, we keep in our database only the customer and subscription reference, plan, status, the end of the billing period, a cancellation date and who sold you the subscription; of your address only the country, and only in the cases below (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; for invoices and records we have to keep, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). For a purchase from us, the order confirmation contains links to your first invoice at Stripe; anyone who has them can open the invoice for about 30 days.
If a payment fails. If a payment fails, is reversed or is still being processed, your workspace is paused (terms, section 4). For this we keep since when it is paused and why, and for each invoice or chargeback concerned its Stripe reference and state; we delete these entries with the workspace (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Owners and admins get a notification in the app, and the activity log records the start and end of the pause. If a card payment fails, Stripe sends you an email on our behalf with a link to pay; for purchases through Link, Link writes to you.
The order as a record. When you order, the activity log records the plan, the billing period, your acceptance of the terms and your request to start at once, the country you chose and who sells, together with IP address and browser (deleted after 90 days). This entry proves the order and, like the other contract records, is kept until the end of the third year, even if the workspace is deleted (see How long we keep data; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, so that we can prove the contract).
Checking the country. After the payment we compare the country of your billing address with the country you chose, because it decides who sells and which VAT applies (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR). If it does not fit, we do not accept the order: we end the subscription, refund the payment through Stripe and write to the email address you gave on the checkout page. Owners and admins of the workspace get a notification in the app with both countries. The activity log records "Order not accepted and refunded": the reason, who would have sold, the country you chose, the country of the billing address and the state of the refund. The entry and the notification go with the workspace; the order and the refund ("Payment refunded", with amount, currency and who sold) stay as contract records. If you later move your billing address to a country that no longer fits your subscription, we record the old and the new country in the activity log, and owners and admins get a notification; the subscription continues. If the check finds something else, such as an address for which no VAT was charged, we record that in the activity log with the countries concerned. Error reports to Sentry about such cases contain only the reason, the occasion, the way of sale, the internal ID of the workspace and the state of a refund, no countries.
Service providers
These companies process data on our behalf, bound by our instructions under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR):
- Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA: delivery of this website and the app, the servers NebulaClip runs on, storage of your videos in Cloudflare R2 with EU jurisdiction (stored in the EU), converting your videos in the EU (format, captions, music, AI label), speech recognition for captions (Workers AI), and bot protection (Turnstile). Requests are handled in the Cloudflare data centre closest to you. On their way between storage, conversion and the platforms your files pass through Cloudflare's network, and speech recognition runs where the network has capacity for it; both can be outside the EU. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR).
- Supabase, Inc., USA: database and sign-in. Our database is hosted in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Transfers outside the EU, for example for support, are covered by the EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).
- Zoho Corporation B.V., Netherlands: ZeptoMail, which delivers the app's emails, and the mailboxes of our email addresses. The data is held in the EU.
- Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry), USA: error reports from the app. We use Sentry's EU region; the data is stored in Germany. Sentry is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
- Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, Ireland: processing the payments and refunds for purchases from us (see Payments), calculating the VAT for the other EU countries (Stripe Tax) and creating our invoices. Transfers to Stripe, LLC in the USA are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the EU standard contractual clauses.
Separately responsible, under their own privacy policies: the platforms you connect (Google and YouTube, TikTok, Meta, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Bluesky) for everything that happens on them, Stripe for its own purposes in payments, such as preventing fraud, and Link and Stripe for purchases through Link (see Payments).
We pass data to authorities only where the law obliges us to, for example under Art. 18 DSA if someone's life or safety is at risk.
Legal bases
- Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, contract: your account, workspace, videos, music, post texts, captions, connected accounts, publishing, statistics, the emails the service needs, and support for your contract.
- Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR, legal obligation: records we have to keep under commercial and tax law, handling reports under the Digital Services Act, and confirmations of cancellation and withdrawal.
- Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest: security and server logs, bot protection, the activity log, the record of music confirmations, error reports, and defending legal claims. Our interest: a secure, working service that gets better, and being able to show what happened.
- Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, consent: the waiting list on this website, and storing Pinterest statistics in the app. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.
- Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG: storing the cookies and local storage entries that are strictly necessary for the service you asked for.
How long we keep data
- Uploaded videos and the copies we make for platforms: deleted automatically 30 days after upload. A scheduled video is kept at least until 7 days after its publication date, and at least 30 days from the day you scheduled it. You can delete videos yourself at any time.
- Unfinished uploads: deleted after 24 hours.
- Posts (texts, settings, status, links): as long as your workspace exists.
- Access tokens of the platforms: deleted at once when you disconnect the account or delete your NebulaClip account.
- Profile data and statistics from a platform: deleted within 7 days after you disconnect the account. Data from YouTube is refreshed or deleted at least every 30 days; after you revoke access in your Google Account, it is deleted within 30 days.
- Statistics of your posts: every reading while the post is younger than 30 days in Solo and without a subscription, or younger than 90 days in Pro and Team, after that only the latest one. In Pro and Team you can download the readings as a CSV file before then (without YouTube numbers). Readings from YouTube are deleted 30 days after we fetched them unless a newer one replaces them. Stored Pinterest numbers are deleted at once when you withdraw your consent.
- Captions: deleted together with their video. The sound pieces sent for speech recognition exist only while the captions are being made.
- Music: files like videos: deleted 30 days after upload, kept longer while a scheduled post needs them; mixed copies go with the video or the music. The record of your confirmations is kept until the end of the third year (the general limitation period). IP address and browser in it are deleted after 90 days, and once you delete your account the record is no longer linked to you.
- Your account: until you delete it. Deleting it (Settings, Delete account) ends your subscription, revokes our access at the connected platforms where they allow this, and deletes your workspaces, videos, posts and connected accounts at once. If other members share a workspace with you, you have to hand it over to one of them first.
- Backups: deleted data can remain in our backups for up to 30 days, until they are overwritten.
- Activity log: as long as the workspace exists. When a workspace is deleted, its entries go with it, except those that prove contract matters (orders including the request to start the service immediately, plan changes, cancellations, refunds). These, and the entries for a data export or a deleted account, are kept without the link to the workspace until the end of the third year after the entry. IP addresses and browser details in the log are deleted after 90 days. For invitations that were not accepted, the email address is shortened to its domain after 90 days.
- Notifications in the app: as long as the workspace exists; a notification goes earlier if the account it was sent to is deleted.
- Server logs: 7 days at the latest. Error reports: 90 days at the latest.
- Reports of illegal content, our decisions on them, and confirmations of cancellation and withdrawal: until the end of the third year after the matter was closed (the general limitation period).
- Records we have to keep under commercial or tax law: as long as the law requires, up to 10 years.
- Waiting list (this website): until the one notification has gone out, or until you withdraw your consent.
- Emails to us: as long as answering them requires, and as long as commercial and tax retention periods oblige us to.
Cookies and storage on your device
On this website
This website sets no cookies at all, not even technical ones. It keeps two entries in your browser's local storage, and they never leave your device:
- The language you picked, so the page opens in it next time.
- Whether you already joined the waiting list, so the form does not ask you again.
Both are what section 25(2) TDDDG calls strictly necessary for a service you asked for. Nothing else is written to your device, so there is nothing to agree to and the site shows no consent notice.
Nothing on this site measures you, so there is no notice asking for your permission. If measurement is ever added, it will only run for people who agreed to it, and this section will say exactly what it is.
Clearing your browser data for this site removes all of it. No account and no profile is linked to it.
In the app
The app at app.nebulaclip.com sets only cookies that are strictly necessary for the service you asked for (section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). Scripts cannot read them, and they are sent only over encrypted connections and only to app.nebulaclip.com:
- __Host-nc_at keeps you signed in. About one hour, then it is renewed.
- __Host-nc_rt renews your sign-in. 30 days, or until you sign out.
- __Host-nc_oauth protects connecting a platform account against forgery. 10 minutes.
- __Host-nc_pkce protects signing in with Google against forgery. 10 minutes.
The app also keeps a few entries in your browser's local storage, so that it stays the way you left it. They stay on your device: your language (nc.locale), the workspace you opened last (nc.ws), light or dark mode (nc.theme), the period you chose on the statistics page (nc.stats.days), and the draft of the post you are writing (nc.compose:…), so that nothing is lost when you switch pages or reload. A draft is deleted when you send or reset the post; drafts older than 14 days are deleted the next time you open the post editor. On the forms for sign-up, sign-in, password reset, cancellation and withdrawal, Cloudflare Turnstile checks whether a person is using the browser; Cloudflare uses the signals it collects only to detect bots (Turnstile privacy addendum). There are no advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one responsible for your place of residence (Art. 77).
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): where we process personal data on the basis of a legitimate interest, you can object at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation. We then stop the processing unless there are compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms.
To use your rights, write to [email protected]. In the app you can also download your data yourself (Settings, Download export) and delete your account yourself.
The supervisory authority responsible for us is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (datenschutz.hessen.de).
We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal effects on you or affect you in a similarly significant way (Art. 22 GDPR).
You do not have to give us any data. Without an email address and a connection to a platform, however, we cannot provide the service.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the service or the law changes, for example when a new platform becomes available. The date below shows the current version. If a change affects data we already hold, we tell you in the app or by email before it applies.

Du kannst jedes Konto jederzeit in NebulaClip trennen (Konten, Trennen).
Was wir bekommen.
TikTok
Was wir bekommen.
Zugriff widerrufen. Trenn TikTok in NebulaClip.
- In NebulaClip.
Statistik.

Zahlungen
- Posts (Texte, Einstellungen, Status, Links): solange dein Workspace besteht.
Schreib dafür an [email protected].
